LinkedIn recruiters pay serious money to have specialist recruitment tools at their disposal. One of these is an advanced search tool. If you have ever been contacted by a recruiter out the blue this is probably how they found you.
As you can see there are many different fields that cover an entire profile, so for example if a recruiter is looking for candidates in Cambridge then they select that location and it shows all candidates in the area.
If a recruiter is looking for Data analysts working in Financial services in the Cambridge area then they will find 175 total candidates
Now they can also narrow it down even further using keywords.
Now you know the search criteria you can update your profile
Update your LinkedIn Profile to enable recruiters to find you.
Update your location, skills and job titles to be relevant to your desired job role
Update your most recent position, headline and profile. This is a great opportunity to add some keywords.
Make sure to include keywords from all these areas in my new role description, then add skills to your main profile section.
As soon as you put these new skills and experience keywords on your profile you will become searchable by recruiters. InMail or profile views will follow.
Review your LinkedIn profile, does it contain the skills and keywords that recruiters in your field of work are looking for? If not then start adding them, especially around the top.
