Blockchain DLT Working Group Meeting

Thursday 6th July from 5pm – 6pm at London Metropolitan University

The next meeting of the ISITC Blockchain DLT Working Group will be held on the 6th July at London Metropolitan University in Moorgate (near the corner of London Wall and Moorgate).

The meeting will commence at 5pm and finish at 6pm sharp. Please be in your seats for 4.45pm. Seating is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis so please register your place soon via the form on the left.

The meeting topic will be concerning the latest developments in DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) including legal and standards issues but also a general round up of the latest news. We are delighted to welcome Siân Jones to the meeting who will present the latest developments in DLT. As you will see from her Bio below she is a leading authority on matters DLT and involved in many of the market initiatives covering aspects of DLT. She will be imparting her knowledge and receiving questions from our working group in true vibrant ISITC style. It should be interesting and enlightening and assist the group get up to speed on DLT in 2017.

Siân Jones is Founder of COINsult

Siân heads COINsult, a regulatory compliance consultancy focusing on virtual currencies and distributed ledger technology that advises fintech start-ups, governments and enterprises. She also leads the European Digital Currency and Blockchain Technology Forum, a public policy platform helping EU policymakers and legislators shape sound policy and regulation.
Siân is a member of ISO’s technical committee on DLT and sits as an expert on its Security & Privacy and Smart Contracts study groups. She also sits on BSI’s national mirror committee, techUK’s DLT working group, and the Financial Markets Law Committee DLT working group.
She is a founding member of the UK Digital Currency Association and led its Regulation & Banking working group (2014-2016). She contributes to leading blockchain podcast, Epicenter, and is a regular speaker and panellist at conferences. Siân is also an Ambassador for the Emerging Payments Association, and helped found the first publicly-quoted blockchain technology company and the first blockchain platform provider on the UK Government’s G-Cloud.

Her 46-year career in information technology, security, data protection and compliance includes working in Europe, the Middle East and Asia in industries as diverse as banking, transport, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and security.
